New Years Resolutions….it seems like everyone is making one or more resolutions for 2006. As for me I made my resolution months ago, to get in shape to compete for the Gay Games in Chicago in 2006.
Taking the steps to do that I keep going to gym and attempting to make more swim workouts. So today, Saturday I woke up with the intention of going to swim today but since it is raining here in Los Angeles and we swim at an outdoor pool I decided to go to the gym instead.
Ahhh…the gym on a rainy day is the busiest day to go. Between the rain and everyone getting a jump-start on New Years Resolutions everyone in LA was at the gym today. Which was good, extra eye candy to motivate oneself.
15 minutes cardio (reclining bike thing)
0 minutes cardio (elliptical trainer)
3x12 20lb incline dumbbell press
3x12 flat bench dumbbell flyes
3x12 each side one arm dumbbell bent over rows
3x12 standing barbell curls (40lbs)
3x12 standing barbell (damn what’s it called not curls....) 40lbs
3x12 40lbs hammer decline press
3x12 40lbs hammer incline press
3x12 90lbs seated dip
3x12 30lbs (each side) hammer triceps extensions, lowered the normal weight today
3x12 150 lbs lower back extensions
3x12 40lbs hammer leg extensions
3x12 40lbs hammer seated leg curl
3x12 95lbs nautilus vertical chest
3x12 35lbs hammer biceps curl
3x15 60lbs abdominal standing thingy (yeah so technical)
Some other things…I need to write them done…
Then a nice hot shower and more eye candy in the locker room So besides just working out this past year I was able to finish two 10k’s this past year and swam at IGLA in Atlanta and a few other events..
My first 10k was the West Hollywood Pride Run, which was only my second 10k race ever, and the first time I broke the one-hour mark. Yeah I know it isn’t much but I only started to run in August of 2004.
My second 10k was the Nike Run Hit Wonder in which I did an even better time. The thing about the Nike Run was that it was a night and well the turkey burger I had at lunch didn’t stay down in my stomach. So after I finish I started to well…so that is of course when the photographer snapped a photo of me with my burger all over me.
All those times were so much faster than IGLA but HERE is a
post I did in memory of IGLA Atlanta.
Well that is my memories of 2005. Hope everyone has a safe and great New Year. – the17thman
