I went to bed very early last night so I could get up and workout. Luckily I woke up before my alarm clock went off. After a bowl of cereal and some No-Explode stuff I was on my way. I started off running to the gym. Since it was pretty early it was just me on sidewalks. The run was 1.87 miles.
At the gym I worked on chest, arms and finished off with some ab work. Didn't want to kill myself since I was about to embark on a long run.
I headed out of the 24 Hour Fitness in West Hollywood and ran west on Santa Monica Blvd.. I turned south on Doheny and ran down to Olympic. Turning west on Olympic to Westwood. My first stop was a pee break at a Coffee Bean on Westwood. Then I continued to I reached Le Conte at UCLA. I ran on Le Conte east to Hillgard Ave. Then Hillgard to Sunset running west on Sunset to Veteran. Then down Veteran to Gayley back to Le Conte. It's a great loop around the campus of UCLA with some rolling hills. Then I zig zagged down that street with Diddy Riese Cookies. But it was too early for them to be open. So back to Westwood and my 2nd stop this time to get water at CVS. Then it was back running on Westwood to Wilshire. Ran east on Wilshire to Santa Monica Blvd which I took all the way home.
It was a fun run and being Sunday morning not much traffic. I was able to run and run with very few redlights. The loop around UCLA is pretty much non-stop. The run was according to Nike+ 17.76 miles. Gmap-Pedometer gave the run a 17.48 mile total. Either way it was a good run when you add the 1.87 mile run in from earlier. I need to step it up big time with the LA Marathon only a few weeks away. Next week will be a doozie of a run. For now at least I can rest till my next run.
