Sunday! Okay so this past week I really haven't been swimming or doing much at all. No weight training or running. But I've had my nieces and nephews in town so I've been busy having fun. Spending three days poolside and in the pool horsing around. That is hard! It was almost a workout. But my excuses are gone back home so it was time to get back in the pool. I printed up a workout I was sent last week that I hadn't swam and headed towards the pool.
The email workout -
the water is hot, so be careful.
1x500 loosen
1x200 kick with fins
4x100 on 1:45 - k, r, l, s
rest!
2x50 sprint kick on 3:00 - no fins
6x75 pull on 1:15 - no paddles, just a pull buoy
rest!
6x50 free on 1:10 -alternate between a kick/drill and a sprint/pace 50
3x100 kick of your choice - rest 20
50s of your choice

So I did the workout on my own almost exactly as sent. The 4x100's k,r,l,s I did them on 2 minutes. The water was so hot I wasn't going to kill myself. The water was too hot to even push myself at all. I just kept a decent pace trying to hold it together. After not much swimming in the past week that was a tough enough job never mind doing it in hot water. For my 50's at the end I did 3 Rounds of 4x50's on 1:15 Pulling. With breath control for each round 3, 5 and 7. So far this was 2,850 yards. Then started with everyone else...
200 Kick (200/3050)
4x75's Kick/Drill/Kick One of each stroke on 1:40 (300/3350)
4x100's IM on 2:30 Descending by 5 seconds. I did 1:28, 1:24, 1:17 and a 1:10. Not terrific times but not horrible. (400/3450)
We then did 10x25's. (250/3,700) Each swimmer got to pick what each 25 would be. And that was it. Total workout today was 3,700 yards. I gotta admit it was hard to get myself going out of the pool but now that I'm done I'm glad I swam. Gotta get back to swimming! Been such a lackey. I should hit the gym for weight training but may skip it today and watch swimming on NBC at 1pm EST (check local listings.)
