One day doesn't make a swimmer nor does one set but after swimming today I feel stronger then I have in a very long time. Now the water and air temp are crazy hot with both at 86F. I joined the cooler brigade and packed a cooler with A Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad Cooling Towel, another cooling towel, blue ice packs, ice cubes, G2 and water. I ended up only drinking a G@ and dumping the ice after I swam.
Mixed 500. Think I did a 300 pull w/o paddles, 150 pull w/ paddles then a 50 w/ paddles and fins.
Then we did 4x125's on 2:20. Right Arm / Left Arm / Pull / Kick / Swim. I did the first 3 free and the last 1 fly. (500/1200)
3x200's Free on 3:20. Negative Split and Descend. Shit. I remember my last one I was a 1:07 and a 1:04 for a 2:11. Now the first two I did negative split and descend but I can't remember exactly. My first one I was a 2:28 and then a 2:22. That sorta sounds right in my mind. (600/1800)
6x100's Free on 1:50. Negative Split and Descend. Oh and the first 50 breathing every 3. So I was a 1:14, 1:12, 1:09, 1:08, 1:07 and a 1:05. (600/2400)
So I wasn't super ass slow and felt good. Don't know if I could have gone faster but I think I could have swam more. So I probably held back a bit too much. But then again we had lots of rest.
4x75's Kick. (300/2700)
6x75's on 1:40 I think. Stroke. 25 Drill / 25 Free Easy / 25 Sprint Stroke. I did 3 fly and 3 back. (450/3150)
8x25's Drill/Sprint on 60 (200/3250)
8x25's Drill Work on coaches send off. (200/3450)
And that was it. Now it's time for lunch and back to work. Gotta teach spinning tonight. The plan is to swim both Saturday and Sunday. I was planning on swimming one of two swim meets on Saturday but that isn't going to happen. The one with the 1,500 was filled up for that race before I got to enter. So I decided it wasn't worth getting up super early and drive two hours to swim short events. Then I put off and put off entering a closer meet with shorter events. So now I'm just going to swim at a practice. Oh well! As I keep saying, "At Least I'm Swimming."
