It's Sunday so that means an easy swim day. Of course of late I either don't swim or have an easy swim day. It's like the Forever Taper! I really didn't want to even get up this morning never mind going for a swim. But three alarms somehow cajoled me out of bed. Since I'm working Sundays for the summer I figured I had 30-45 minutes to swim before having to eat and get ready for work. I could really push it and swim longer but that means little time to relax before going to work. And I like to relax and be a bit lazy on a Sunday morning. Since I was half asleep before leaving I went online to find a swim workout to do. For some reason I had a workout bookmarked so I decided to read it and figure out why. After reading SwimYear2012 - "Tweet This Workout" it still was a mystery on why I saved it. So then I went over to GoSwim and read "Main Set Tuesday - Fast" but gotta admit that workout didn't spark any interest in me. So I headed to the pool without a workout in my mind figuring I'd make it up as I went. Which I did and that is always bad.
Warm Up
300 Swim
4x50's Kick on 1:15
Yeah, at this point it goes down hill. The water was 88F. Bath Water! Oy! So I sorta planned on just doing 50's freestyle.
10x50's Pulling breathing every 3 with paddles on 55. (500/1000)
Then it get's even easier!
4x50's Swim on 55
Square up the clock to the 60
4x50's Swim on 45
Then right into 2x50's cool down on 60.
1,500 yards in about 40 minutes. Oy! At least it was a swim. Now out of the water my cross training is going very well. About a month ago this weekend I went to training to become an instructor in Group Power. Well that last two weeks I've been getting up and coteaching the 5:45am Group Power class at my gym. The co-teaching started with me doing a few of the tracks/routines then working up to me teaching on stage with the other instructor just off to the side. My goal was to be ready to film me teaching to submit for my final certification exam. Luckily the Thursday evening class instructor needed the night off so I got to teach the 5:30pm class. Well I sorta did one too many goof-ups during that taping so I decided to go again at 5:45am the next morning. Well that class went good but we had a problem with the recording. The recording cut off about 2/3's into the class. So since starting tomorrow we have a new release and I'm being recorded in the previous release of the class I was running out of real classroom time. So I taught and recorded the noon class. So basically I taught three weight lifting classes with a 20 hour time frame. Now the third time was the charm and I nailed it. I'll be submitting that video. But to sum it up I've been doing a lot of cross training with Group Power and my Group Ride (spinning) classes. Hopefully it'll all do me well. Despite what some people say. Oy! I'm 40 miles behind my goal distance pace. On the flip side it's the 8th day of the month and I've swum 4 times. I still gotta do better!
