Swimming! I took the weekend off from work so I got to fit in a semi-regular workout swim. Originally I took Saturday off from my spin class to go to Disney for Star Wars Weekend but then decided to take today off also just to have a day off. I haven't had a full weekend off in 9 months. So it was nice to sleep in and relax this am all the way to 8am.
Once up it was time to go swimming. Sunday everyone sleeps in and arrives about 8:30ish. So I had some time to warm up a bit. I had originally planned to get at the pool by 7:30am and do some decent swims before the "workout" but sleeping in won over swimming. Luckily the workout was very easy as everyone was either still at Pan Am's or came back from swimming. YEAH! I'm on a year long taper!
I had a few issues using my Garmin Swim today mostly human error issues as I haven't been swimming I sorta forgot which button to push or even to push the buttons to start or stop it.
I splashed around and did 550 yards for a warm up. Some swimming and pulling. Just to get use to swimming. Then I guess 150 kick. I was kicking and I see I entered a 150 as a drill on the watch so yeah I guess a 150 kick. So a 700 yard warm up. I don't know what that 100 was listed above but I got some my stroke count and splits on the watch so it must have been swimming or pulling. So 800 yard warm up. Then we did a warm up set.
4x50's Kick then 4x50's Drill 25 / Swim 25 (400/1200)
Due to my lack of swimming I'm already tired. I can barely hold my shit together for a warm up. The Main Set is when I fall apart. Really had to push myself not to quit. It wasn't much but it was the hardest thing I've done in months.
I had to swim them with some stroke in each part. For the 50's I had to swim at least a 50 of a stroke, then in the 100's a 50 in each of the 100 of stroke then in the 150's at least a 75 of stroke in each one. Oy! I really goofed using my watch so it's no help for me remembering what I swam.

I think I did the 1st Round of 50's Fly 25 Free 25 then Back 25 Free 25.
The 1st Round of 100's I swam the middle Fly 25 / Back 25 in the middle so I had some free to start and finish for recovery for the 1st 100 then for the 2nd 100 I did Back 25 / Breast 25 in the middle.
The first 150 I swam it I think Free 25 / Fly 25 / Back 25 / Breast 25 / 50 Free. Then the rest Fly 25 / Free 25 / Back 25 / Free 25 / Breast 25 / Free 25.
The 2nd Round of 100's I did them IM.
The 2nd Round of 50's I did the first one back and the second one fly.
Ouchie! 1,200 yards of bad swimming for the set. (1,200/2,400)
That was interesting 1,200 then 1,200. Couldn't have planned that better if I had tried.
