Let the fun and running begin... I actually don't arrive but using a friends foto that they sent out. I'll do one more run later today a nice easy run then get up and swim tomorrow morning before I head down to Disney! Right now I'm just starting my over packing and over sharing... Once I'm down @ Disney I won't be posting much if at all. Then I'll do some over sharring!
It's getting closer and the closer I get the more nervous I get and the more questions I have. Luckily I've been doing Team In Training and they sent me a word document filled with some general information that I couldn't find elsewhere. So here is what I do know: Marathon Wave Starts Sunday, January 9, 2011 Walt Disney World® Marathon presented by CIGNA Start Location: Epcot® Center Drive
I don't know which wave is which but I'll be way back in the pack! Moore general info -

So I don't know much. But after talking to a friend who is running the 1/2 Marathon it seems I knew more then them. Now just gotta calm down before my stomahc psychs me out.
Run Disney's Facebook page is ramping up with sneak previews of The 2011 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend:
So Course preparations are underway, including the placement of more than 1-Million cups and 135-Thousand bottles of water that will be used throughout the event weekend! What is your favorite on-course amenity that helps deliver you to the finish line?
I gotta admit I'm starting to feel like a little kid the days leading up to Christmas. Excited as all hell. Well frustrated by a few things but more excited then anything else. So can't wait for Sunday!
Getting another short run in to break in my new Mizuno Wave Inspire 6's was on my agenda today so when I over slept and missed swimming I headed out for a run before lunch. I planned out a route but that got changed as I determined crossing the rotary with lunch time traffic might not be a good idea. So I just turned around at the gate and headed back but with an extra loop around one of the neighborhoods. So I got in a 5.68 mile run. Normally I'd post my Nike+ graph but I'm having issues with my screengrab software today so no graph. You'll just have to believe me when I say I ran! As for the new Mizuno's I'm holding off judgement on them. I don't know if I like them or not. Maybe one more short run and I'll decide if I'll run with them on Sunday. I like how light they are but I don't like how it seems my right big toe seems to be in pain when I'm running.
In other news I'm tweaking my playlists for Sundays run and I did buy cheap $6 sweats to wear before the race starts. That way when I throw them too the side once the race starts it's no biggie. I also am sorta getting use to running with the belt. Figured out how to remove the water bottles without stopping and learned to get more hydration in my mouth then on my shirt. Wahoo!
I know I know I'm a geek. I just purchased the Vinylmation 2011 Walt Disney World Marathon 3'' Figure. I'm sure I can buy it next weekend at the Expo but this is just one less thing I'll have to cart around. I don't know exactly what I'll do with it once I get it since all my swimming and other running medals all just sit in a box. But maybe this will give me an excuse to put them on display. Here is some info on the figure:
Commemorate the 2011 Walt Disney World Marathon with this collectible Marathon Vinylmation figure. Write your finish time on the back of Mickey's head and use the bottom of the box as a podium to show off your accomplishment.
Ha! Just checked ebay and if I hold on to this I can sell this next year for 4 times what I paid for it! Ha! Oh and I did pre-order the 2011 Disney World Marathon Pin. Actually two of them. One for me and one for my mother who is one of those people who have a collection of the pins. My parents have been members of the Disney Vacation Club for years. I sorta can't wait to see what the pin looks like since it'll be my 1st pin of what I hope will not become a new hobby of mine! Just Say No To Pin Collecting!
I know a lot can change in a week in the world of weather and let's hope so. Rain is predicted for Sunday the marathon day and Monday the free day at the park! I like the idea of the day only being 68F but not rain! I hate running a short run in the rain never mind a marathon. But it's still one week away to the 2011 Walt Disney World Marathon and the forecast WILL change!
The Disney World Marathon is a few weeks away and my fundraising deadline is approaching so I'm asking everyone to donate! Even if you can only give $5.00 it all adds up! More Info:
