I have a black and blue mark on my arm. I hit the lane line so I'm guessing it's from that. Also one of my coaches told me that if I swim more backstroke expect to have tan lines around the eyes from my goggles. Raccoon Eyes here I come!

I guess coaches don't have to understand the basic physics of light, but if you're not already swimming more backstroke then I would think you'd have more to worry about than raccoon eyes.
In fact, if you swam more backstroke, you would refine your powers of discernment and improve your ability to know where you are and where you are going, all while avoiding that unseemly groping and gawking.
