Fitness Plate: Start Like A Champion with Summer Sanders
Monday, June 04, 2012
Join Olympic Champion Summer Sanders as she explores how to build the perfect fitness plate. Along with senior USOC sports dietitian Nanna Meyer, Summer talks about the USOC's plate system, which mirrors athlete's training days. In this episode, Summer learns about a moderate plate. A moderate day consists of an athlete that has two workouts a day. For an average person, this would be a day full of errands along with a full workout. A moderate plate consists of a quarter protein and a quarter carbohydrates. Nanna and Summer then build a moderate plate for breakfast and lunch.
