Ryan's workout, in and out of the pool, may well be among the toughest
in the world. He explains what his 7-day-a-week regimen includes (it
totals 30 to 35 hours a week), a combination of swimming and
weight/strength training. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, he'll do an
hour of core work alone, for example. Tuesdays and Thursdays are focused
on building power (he might tie weight around his waist during his
swims, he says). Sunday is Strongman training in his coach's garage.
