Lane 1 - UPI posts "Phelps now in Baltimore loft. Record-breaking Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, who grew up in the Baltimore area, is now living in a loft in the city, The Baltimore Sun reports. The newspaper said Phelps has not announced his purchase of a loft in the up-and-coming Canton neighborhood. But neighbors say Phelps sightings are frequent, and he reportedly has patronized neighborhood watering holes."
Lane 2 - Socialite Life posts "A Shirtless Tom Daley Hits The Beach In A Speedo In Australia. Tom Daley is looking good as he is training is Australia. The swimmer is down under training for upcoming competition but has managed to have some down-time as he hit the beach."
Lane 3 - Mercury News posts "Olympic swimmer Anthony Ervin entered in World Championships. Two-time Olympian Anthony Ervin of Berkeley is among the stars entered in the short course World Championships, Dec. 12-15, in Istanbul, Turkey, USA Swimming announced Wednesday."
Lane 4 - Daily Mail posts "Golden girl Adlington calls for British coach to take charge of Team GB swimmers. Rebecca Adlington has called for a home-grown candidate to take over as British Swimming head coach following the disappointment of the London Olympics. Team GB's swimmers managed just three medals, two of which were won by Adlington, to fall below the pre-Olympics target of six."
Lane 5 - Easy Reader News posts "Manhattan Beach Mayor honors Olympic gold medalists Rebecca Soni and Ricky Berens. Mayor Wayne Powell honored Olympic gold medalist swimmers Rebecca Soni and Ricky Berens, both Manhattan Beach residents, this week. The swimmers, who have been dating for three years, accepted the mayor’s “I Heart MB” award and keys to the city at Tuesday night’s council meeting. Soni and Berens both brought their gold medals to the meeting. Berens won gold at the last two Olympics. Soni has won silver and gold medals."
Lane 6 - The New Zealand Herald posts "More success for Kiwis in World Cup. New Zealand swimmers enjoyed plenty of success on the second day of the FINA World Cup swim meet in Dubai today. Olympians Glenn Snyders and Melissa Ingram earned podium places, Christchurch sprinter Cameron Simpson broke a national record and all three went under the qualifying times for December's FINA world short course championships."
