Wednesday's Swim Report - He Wore An Not So Itty Bitty Orange Speedo

Lane 1 - International Design Times posts "Greg Louganis And Johnny Chaillot Are Engaged! Will Olympic Diver And Partner Have Kids?  Greg Louganis is engaged! The 53-year-old diver has announced his engagement to paralegal Johnny Chaillot on Monday, June 17, 2013. "This is what the universe had in store for both of us," Louganis told People magazine exclusively."

Lane 2 - Orlando Sentinel posts "Gold medalist leads 'World's Largest Swimming Lesson' at SeaWorld's Aquatica.  SeaWorld Orlando's waterpark Aquatica brought out a ringer to lead the class for the “World’s Largest Swimming Lesson” Tuesday.  Three-time Olympic gold medalist and Winter Haven native Rowdy Gaines kicked off the lesson at the park’s wave pool, where more than 140 kids participated in learning a few swimming basics."

Lane 3 - The Sydney Morning Herald posts "Stilnox swimmers await AOC punishment.  Australian swimming's controversial `Stilnox six' will find out their punishment from the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) next week.  The six men's freestyle swimmers have already been disciplined by Erry-oconnell-speedoSwimming Australia but face further sanctions from the AOC.  The swimmers - Eamon Sullivan, Matt Targett, James Magnussen, James Roberts, Tommaso D'Orsogna and Cameron McEvoy - were fined and given suspended sentences by Swimming Australia."

Lane 4 - US Weekly posts "Jerry O'Connell Wears Skimpy Orange Speedo, Shows Off Skinny Body. Jerry O'Connell was photographed working on the set of his new CBS comedy series on Friday, June 14, wearing nothing but a bright orange speedo.  The 39-year-old actor showed off his skinny, toned bod in the skimpy swimsuit on location in Woodland Hills, Calif. O'Connell gave photographers a view of his lean muscles while chugging a bottle of water in the sun."

Lane 5 - WSOC TV posts (w/video) "Olympian swimmers train for World Championships in Charlotte.  Eyewitness News found out on Tuesday why they are preparing in Charlotte.  "I think Charlotte is a big swim hub. A lot of people are turning their heads to Charlotte," said Olympic swimmer Cullen Jones. Jones is just one of four Olympians on the group called swim elite. Others swimmers on the team are top performers from colleges like Harvard and Auburn."

Lane 6 - Team GB posts "Fogg: Barcelona could be last worlds where I swim 1500m free.  Daniel Fogg is well aware that one day he will have to wave goodbye to the pool for good and concentrate purely on making waves in open water swimming.  But the 25-year-old is not about to go out with a whimper and has his sights firmly set on next month’s World Championships to get the ball rolling."

Lane 7 - LA Times posts (w/video) "Olympic swimmer Janet Evans delivers message of water safety.  Olympic gold medalist Janet Evans promoted water safety Tuesday while  joining in an attempt to set a world record for the largest simultaneous swimming lesson.  Evans delivered her pitch at a pool facility in La Mirada, one of 700 around the world participating in the event. Aside from setting a record, the endeavor -- billed as "The World's Largest Swimming Lesson" -- had a more serious aim: to stress the importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning."

Lane 8 - Sarasota Herald Tribune posts "Sarasota gets its feet wet.  Success of Pan-American championship may be a sign of things to come.  Over the last two weeks, Sarasota County got a taste of what it's like to host a 10-day, international sporting event. The experience left the tourism and business communities hungering for more."
