Thursday's Swim Report - Phelps Tanks & Other Swim Bits

Lane 1 - Runner's World posts "How Celebrities Fared in the New York City Marathon.  Andy Baldwin and Summer Sanders lead the contingent.  The Olympic champion swimmer, who finished April's Boston Marathon in 3:33.13, crushed her goal of running sub-3:30, running 3:24, "a decade PR." The TV analyst, speaker, model, mom, and serious runner was featured in the November issue of Runner's World."

Lane 2 - Brand Channel posts "China Swim Star Sun Yang Humiliates Sponsor Hyundai in Porsche Blunder.  Last week, the celebrity athlete and London pool sensation was taken into custody after a traffic accident involving a Porsche SUV. That's embarrassing enough for his sponsor, Hyundai. But it's worse. It seems, given all that time in the pool, Sun Yang never got around to getting a driver's license. Now Hyundai is the focus of Chinese authorities too and laughing consumers."

Lane 3 - Baltimore Business Journal posts "Under Armour lights 'Title Tanks' of Phelps, Lewis and Ripken.  Under Armour Inc. on Wednesday evening flipped the light switch on three silos next to its Under_armour_title_tanks_phelpsLocust Point campus that now display murals of Michael Phelps, Ray Lewis and Cal Ripken Jr."

Lane 4 - News posts "Olympian makes plea for local business.  MICHAEL Klim is the first to admit he felt out of his depth when he dived into the business world.  The former Olympic swimmer hung up his togs in 2007 and settled back into life in Melbourne intent on creating something of his own.  It wasn't long before he jumped into the deep end with wife Lindy and created their successful skincare brand, Milk & Co.  Klim said he at first grappled with the many challenges and often looked to other small business owners for inspiration."

Lane 5 - The West Australian posts "Not all dogs look like their owners.  Olympic swimmer, TV star, underwear model and restaurateur are just some of the strings in Eamon Sullivan's bow - but parenting French bulldogs Baxter and Duke may be his biggest challenge.  Sullivan got the dogs three years ago and cannot imagine life without them and he makes sure they get time in his busy schedule.  "I hardly have time to cook for myself any more," he said. "But I usually give the boys some pretty good leftovers when I do."

Lane 6- Outside posts "An Olympic Swimmer's History of Freediving and Spearfishing in Hawai'i.  Since he was a boy, Sonny Tanabe has been in the water, as a competitive swimmer, freediver and spearfisherman. In his second book on spearfishing, he writes about the history, the tools and the heroes of this art."
