Sunday's Swim Report - Mastering Mind Through Swimming & Other Swim Bits

Busy with work this past week and on my one day to swim in the morning it was too chilly for me to get out of bed.  Brrr!  But at least I got to catch up on some swim news.

Lane 1 - Fox Philly posts "Olympic Medalist Ryan Lochte Leaves $400 Tip At State College Restaurant. 11 time Olympic medalist, Ryan Lochte left a very generous tip at a State College restaurant over the weekend. On Friday, Lochte posted on Twitter that he was headed to Penn State, “Early workout done. Now off to #PennState for the weekend.

Lane 2 - Metro Health & Fitness posts "Ian Thorpe Aquatic and Fitness Centre. Keen to see what a day at Ian Thorpe Aquatic and Fitness Centre looks like?"

Lane 3 - The West Australian posts "Double whammy for Sullivan. The Seven series will head into twice-weekly shows from this week on Tuesday and Thursday nights, meaning all contestants will need to learn double the dances in the same amount of time. "If it was a double episode of swimming I would be fine but dancing is something I have never done before," Sullivan told AAA yesterday." The Daily Telegraph "Axed DWTS contestant Eamon Sullivan is swapping his dance Belmont_Poolshoes for an apron." The West Australian posts "Dance slows Sullivan's new cafe. Eamon Sullivan is preparing to open his third Perth food establishment near the new $87 million Richmond Quarter development in East Fremantle."

Lane 4 - Long Beach Post has "The Soon-to-Be Ghost of the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool. Aesthetically, the building was an ode to the Modern-Greco design, with white pillars typical of Greek architecture mixed with the clean, straight-line style of mid-century modern design. One of its most admirable aspects was how it catered to spectators: if you were to sit on the northern set of bleachers, you were not just provided a spectacular view of the athletes but a gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean thanks to the massive glass walls that anchor both the southern and northern sides of the building."

Lane 5 - MY San Antonio posts "Swimming nostalgia rules at Davis Memorial. The Davis Memorial/Battle for the Crown swim meet Saturday was about the nostalgia. Much of it had to do with the return of Josh Davis, Jimmy Feigen and Annie Chandler Grevers, who have been responsible for multiple state championships by the Churchill Chargers through the years."

Lane 6 - USCF posts "Mastering Body and Mind Through Swimming at UCSF. Every day, rain or shine, swimmers at the Bakar Fitness & Recreation Center bring unparalleled intensity to the pool. These driven aquatic warriors, serious about fitness, are part of the U.S. Masters Swim (USMS) team known as “Bay Masters,” which is under the guidance of Coach Doug Huestis. He knows how to bring out the best in his athletes. On the second floor of the fitness center, a sea of prestigious awards that the Bay Masters team has won over the years dots the wall."

Lane 7 - Bondi Rescue posts "The Toughest Day Yet! | The Ride East Coast (Webisode 10)"

Lane 8 - US Masters Swimming posts "Competing with Osteoporosis. Tips for preventing injuries."
