Daily Swim Report - RIP - Budgy Smuggler & Other Swim Bits

Lane 1 - CTV posts "Olympian to entrepreneur: Phelps makes his next plunge. Michael Phelps wants to dive into Silicon Valley's investment opportunities as he tries to make the transition from Olympic swimming star and product pitchman to entrepreneur. "I would love to get involved, whether it's in a couple little startups here and there, take a little risk, have some fun and see where it goes," Phelps said in an interview during a recent visit to San Jose, California while appearing at an Intuit software conference."

Lane 2 - E! posts "Michael Phelps Gives His Son a Swim Lesson--and So Baby Boomer's Quest for Olympic Gold Begins."

Lane 3 - Fox Sports posts "Hungary's swim head resigns ahead of hosting 2017 worlds. The head of Hungary's swimming federation says he is resigning, less than a year before the country will host the 2017 world championships. Calls for the ouster of Tamas Gyarfas, who first became federation president in 1993, have been led by three-time Olympic champion Katinka Hosszu, who called him the ''most harmful factor'' for Hungarian swimming."

Lane 4 - Perth Now posts "Budgy smuggler creator, Peter Travis passes away aged 89. Peter Travis was the man who dived in at the deep end to create the swimming briefs favoured by Aussie beachgoers and Olympic swimmers for generations. Mr Travis, a Sydney ceramic artist, designer and teacher born in Manly, was working for Speedo in 1960 when his boss urged him to recreate the Hawaiian shorts, then popular overseas."
